Okay, I’ll admit… I’m not getting any work done on Mathematical girls. Sorry.
Here’s the good news… I’ve been working on translating Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai ~ Portable, but the project is moving at a snail’s pace because I’m the only translator on board. If any of you guys know a translator willing to help me out, please send them flying over to that link.
As for the status of Mathematical girls… poke me some more and I may just get back to translating it. D:
Don’t worry, I’m not yet dead. I have no intention of dropping this project, either… so sorry if the releases are coming out at a snail’s pace.
Term is over and I’m looking to having more time on translating. I’ve already cleaned out chapter 3, so all that’s left is to decipher the handwritten lines… I swear, this might be insta-quit for other translators, but I always like a challenge.
Just to make things clear, I don’t mind people uploading my translations on aggregator sites – SO LONG AS YOU KEEP THE CREDITS PAGE. And please, don’t be an asshole and edit out my translator mark on the main comic. That’s just being a dick.
The disclaimer I place on each release DOES say that I don’t claim ownership over the work, but please be considerate in noting that the skill and time involved in getting it out IS mine… as such, the bear minimum I ask is that you leave the release files alone and upload it to wherever without intentionally trying to take away my credit.
Also, though it’s pretty obscure, please post a link pointing to THIS blog wherever possible should you upload it to an aggregator site. Don’t forget that it’s through things like this that I’m reminded that people actually WANT things translated – plus, it’s how other things get translated as well. So spread the love, ‘kay? Peace out.
Mathematical Girls Chapter 1&2
It’s finally out!
Who ever thought Mathematics could be a topic worthy of making a story out of? So long as I could remember, my relationship with mathematics had always been a rocky one. Arithmetics and geometry were fine… but trigonometry and calculus? D:
So the title pretty much speaks for itself. It’s actually a lot more interesting than it sounds, and reading about these concepts feels a little nostalgic, for some odd reason. Take a read and tell me what you think.
Here’s the first manga I’m working on, at the moment. I just finished with the first chapter, but since it’s so short (about 26 pages, but you can read it in a blitz) I’m going to continue translating to at least the 2nd chapter before releasing it.
To give you an idea, the story is about a boy (his name unknown so far as I’ve read) who has loved mathematics since middle school, who come high school runs into a mysterious girl named Miruka who has a fixation for number sequences. On their first encounter, he is captivated by her enigmatic character, and so up until their 2nd year high school, they are always together in the library conjuring up all sorts of mathematical formulas. On the aside, Tetora is a first year student who, after being under the tutelage of our math-boy for some time, has come to have feelings for him as well.
So we have a three way love-story entangled in a mess of numbers and math. What’s not geeky about that, right? Well, it’s quite intriguing, actually, and the story is very nicely laid out with effective use of repeating themes. I would say that as early as the first chapter, it’s quite clear that things were carefully thought out by the author. The art isn’t exactly top notch, but it works, I guess.
Hope to get out the next chapter soon. Until then, ciao!
EdMX from Genesis Translations here!
Yup. I decided to put up my personal blog for sharing non-H translations. I’m making it a point to balance my translations out, so this is the start of something exciting, for me. For the time being, I will be working on personal projects – so that means no requests, and no nagging to become editor or what not. As time goes by, I’ll eventually open the door to requests and editors, so be patient with me.
So I decide to go with WordPress, just because it just looks good. Coming from blogspot, I have to admit that there’s quite a learning curve going on here. Expect things to improve, eventually.
First on my list of translations is a rather “nerdy” manga about mathematics, which was recommended to me by a good friend of mine. I’ll try to churn out the chapters at least once every two weeks, so look forward to it!
